Camp KaraCHI - Day 3 (Part II)

1300LT - Read blogs & watched Southpark Season 8. Seen it b4 but damn i still missed that show!

1600LT - Buffet breakfast finally settled. Hit the gym. Did 3.5kms on the treadmill. Cannot overwork coz' might have trouble stepping rudders tomorrow. Felt good!

1700LT - Waiting for dinner...

Camp KaraCHI - Day 3 (Part I)

0825LT - Wakeup call.

0826LT - zzZZZzZZzzz.

0900LT - Alarm clock. Shower & chatted online with the woman briefly.

0915LT - Buffet Breakfast. Sick of pakistani food. Settled with waffles, sunny-side-ups and lotsa super-sweet mangoes.

1045LT - Ordered 4kgs of the super-sweet pakisani mangoes to be brought home. (tats ur pressie).

1115LT - CNN: Ritz Carlton and Marriot in Jakarta bombed by terrorists at 7.45 JKT LT.

1120LT - Check emails and update blog...

Camp KaraCHI - Day 2 (Part II)

1300LT - First stop: Tariq Road. Looked at sarees and tonnes of indian/pakistani fabric. The amount of choices and designs is amazing! Makes little india dull. Sash & Syl will definitely max their credit cards out if they were here.

Learnt that the salesMEN actually models themselves in the sarees to entice you to buy em'. Not always a pretty sight. I guess they do not jail cross-dressers over here.

Yes we spent most of our time in the ONLY air-conditioned shop. I mean, the only one with a working one and is turned on.

1430LT - Tariq Centre. The mall of bangles, jewelleries and shoes. Spent a good deal of time haggling with prices of jewelleries, buying almost half the shop of its shoes, and more fabric.

1630LT - Zainab Market. The Petaling Street of Karachi. Plenty of annoying people. Driver did not allow us to shop alone for safety.

1800LT - Millenium Mall. First decent air-conditioning of the day. DVDs are cheap.

1935LT - Back at the hotel. Was about to tip when the Fucking driver had the cheeks to demand for tips. He's lucky we were still feeling generous.

2100LT - Arrived at Salt & Pepper Restaurant by the beach for buffet dinner. Spread was amazing. They had Diet Goat's Milk Ice-Cream.

Glad to announce that i did not spend a single cent except on transportation and food. Broke lah...

P.s. Pictures will be up as soon as i get em' from the kind souls who offered pictures to that IDIOT WHO DID NOT BRING HIS CAMERA.

Camp KaraCHI - Day 2 (Part I)

0830LT - Woke up. Had a shower. Online briefly.

0915LT - Last at breakfast. Strangely everyone was done. Being told i only have 15mins to gobble down the buffet. Doesn't buffet end at 1030LT? Yes, it does. Ok. Realised my clock was wrongly set and i was 1 hr behind.

1045LT (REAL KARACHI TIME) - Adjusted clock. GRO brought us on a tour around the hotel.

1150LT - Goin tour around the market and town to see what this place is all about. Felt like an IDIOT for not bringing my camera...duh!

Camp KaraCHI - Day 1 (Wednesday 15.07.09)

1930LT - Chocks on. Doors open. Air doesn't stink like India.

2030LT - Welcomed at the hotel by some very excited GROs.

2130LT - Free internet. Clear emails and chatted with the woman.

2215LT - Learned about Caspian Airline's doomed Tupalev in Iran.

2230LT - Tom Yam Flavoured Maggi Cup noodles + 2 pcs of tau sah piah.

1100LT - zzzZZZzzZzzzz...

Kelvin & Elsie's Wedding 25.04.09

Had the honour of helping a family friend to take his wedding day photos.

It was a helluva experience and lotsa hard work!

Special thanks to Weilian, Sylvia & Sashi for their help on the day. Not forgetting the ever-annoying "special assistant" who helped carry my lenses and kept me company :-p

Here are some of my photos:

Snatch Thieves to sweep the streets?

I did not know how to respond as i read about Bukit Aman's CID Chief suggesting that Snatch Thieves should be made to do community service (e.g. Sweeping the streets by means of being shamed like the "Litter Bugs" in Singapore).

http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2009/5/13/nation/3893587&sec=nation

First of all, i would like to remind Mr. Bakri that the act of "robbing someone with the intention of causing grevious hurt or death" is not a laughing matter. So stop suggesting such hillarious punishment for such low-lifes.

In the first place, why are we still branding them as thieves when most of them have caused their victims to be paralysed for life or even killed? Are we such an idiotic society or what?

For a start, we should stop calling them thieves. The definition of a thief on an online dictionary reads "a person who steals, esp. secretly or without open force;". Since when were their barbaric acts performed "secretly or without open force"? Go for English tuition pls.

"Robbers" should be a better term befitting them. Should they be caught, the minimum charge should be "Attempted Murder", and nothing short of that. Even though i would love to see them stoned to death.

Being an Alchoholic?

Woke up at 3am in Zurich. Watched CNN (the only english channels are CNN, BBC and CNBC) till 5am. Felt hungry. Had a pack of Chorizo and a 500ml can of OeTTINGER Original Export beer (apparently the original German Beer) while trying to recite the news again & again...

Now...i can't believe that i gave up the Lavazza coffee from the Expresso machine in the room for beer as breakfast.

I think i m screwed. But life is still good. :-p

Potraits

Bought a new Nikkor 50mm F1.8 prime lens recently for my potrait taking. What's better than trying it on my in-house model?

Thumbs up for this value-for-money purchase! And the model too :-p (she made me say this).
